The film has started on a good note in Mumbai, CI, CP-Berar etc with opening in the range of 30-35 %. The opening is decent in Delhi-UP in the range of 25-30 %. The film is a massy action film based out of Maharasthra so the numbers will be much better in Mumbai and mas circuits. Even decent support from Delhi and East Punkab circuits should help the film to come out with a good first day at the box office.
Rohit Shetty is one of the biggest directors of the current generation and this could be another major success story for him if the reports are positive for the film. Ranveer Singh is a on a roll. He started 2018 with Padmavaat and he will end it with Simmba. This film should be a major stepping stone for Ranveer Singh in terms of gaining more mass popularity but he has to follow up this film with more commercial entertainers in order to enhance the popularity.
To target a big first day number at the box office, the film has to get good support from evening and late evening shows too. Rohit Shetty's target audience - family audience generally come to theaters from evening onwards and the report from that audience will decide the future course of the film.
