Remarks
* The amount of 97.27 cr as the opening weekend includes the paid preview collections of around 6.00 cr (Thursday) , the actual weekend collection is around 91.27 cr.

** The Film earned a distributor share of  around 116 cr but as UTV sold rights for few of the territories (see below in territories observations) the revenue for the producer will be the territories kept by UTV and price of territories sold which comes to around 102 cr approx.

***The satellite rights of the film were sold at 40 cr for 7 years, with a link to box office performance of the film.  In detail, If the film crosses the cut-off amount, which was 130 cr , then for every Rs 10 cr net collection after that, the producers get an additional 2 cr. By this, the final amount comes around 54 cr.

Territories Observations

UTV  distributed the film itself in Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan and Nizam territories which normally contribute around 75% of the Indian Box-Office collections. But In case of Chennai Express South belt has contributed almost 30-35% of the total share. Overall UTV got a share around 81-82 cr from these circuits.
UTV  sold the remaining territories to different distributors at record breaking prices and all the distributors collected huge from there respected circuits.Below the prices at which they have acquired and the approximate share collected –
CP – NR Multimedia (MG) for 5 cr & collected 6.5 cr approx distributor share.
CI – Om Films (MG) for 3.15 cr & collected 4.25 cr approx distributor share
Mysore–  Aum Movies (MG) for 4.50 cr & created history by collecting a distributor share around 8.15 cr. ATBB
West Bengal–  Aum Movies( MG) for 2.75 cr & created history by collecting a distributor share approx 6.25 cr. ATBB
Bihar – Aum Movies MG for 2.75 cr & collected a  distributor share approx 3.50 cr.
Tamil Nadu & Kerala –  Marudhara Entertainment (MG) for 2 & collected a  distributor share of 4.5C+ from the territory. ATBB
