Box office Report

Ittefaq Monday (Day 4) Box Office Collection

Ittefaq Monday (Day 4) Box Office Collection is 2-2.25 cr. Ittefaq 4th Day (1st Monday) Collections takes the first four days total movie business to 18 crore.

After an average first weekend, the film has dropped at the box office on Monday. It is heading towards 23 crore range first week and now it will depend on the second week trending to give it a chance to have the possibility of succeeding at the box office. The Monday trend gives the early sign that the chances of it surviving are less until and unless some sort of miracle happens at the box office.

The film will cross the lifetime numbers of Sidharth Malhotra’s A Gentleman today although that is nothing to boast about given the fact that A Gentleman was a box office disaster. Only plus is that the budget of Ittefaq is around 40 % of A Gentleman so producers will break even at their end.

Sidharth Malhotra hasn’t seen a box office success in a long time. A hit film like Kapoor & Sons did nothing for Sidharth Malhotra. He has been a part of two major disasters in recent times – Baar Baar Dekho and A Gentleman. His next flick ‘Aiyaary’ will be extremely important for him as far as box office is concerned.  He needs a proper Hindi film like Ek Villain to make some sort of comeback. Success of a niche film hardly does anything for an A Lister until and unless you are the driving force of that film.

Generally, these kind of films show growth in the first weekend but then they fizzle out in the weekdays. It is primarily due to target audience being weekend dominant audience. The high end multiplexes finds its major audience on Saturday followed by Sunday but that is not enough for a film in a long run.

The film needs to score around 40 crore mark in terms of lifetime number to emerge a success at the box office and that looks impossible at the moment.
