Ittefaq Sunday (Day 3) Box Office Collection – Average 1st Weekend

Ittefaq Sunday (Day 3) Box Office Collection – Average 1st Weekend. Ittefaq 3rd Day Sunday Collections of 6.5-6.75 cr takes the first weekend business to 16 crore.

The film showed decent growth on Saturday but the growth on Sunday was not as high as the Saturday growth. This was kind of expected considering the fact that the film is primarily riding on the numbers from high end multiplexes which generally perform their best on Saturday.

The film has clocked a 16 crore first weekend which is an average number but it is higher than Sidharth Malhotra’s A Gentleman although the latter was a disaster at the box office.

The film is a safe venture considering the non-theatrical revenues but then that should never be the reason for the verdict of the film. The film has to perform theatrically for it to be called a success at the box office.

Generally, these kind of films show growth in the first weekend but then they fizzle out in the weekdays. It is primarily due to target audience being weekend dominant audience. The high end multiplexes finds its major audience on Saturday followed by Sunday but that is not enough for a film in a long run.

The niche genre of the film limits it from performing in Tier II multiplexes as well which in turn limits it box office prospects. The Monday number has to be close to 3 crore plus for the film to have any chance at theatrical success but going by the weekend trend, the number seems very unlikely.

The film needs to score around 40 crore mark in terms of lifetime number to emerge a success at the box office and that completely depends on the trending in the weekdays of the first week.
