A source says, “Yes, the Morocco schedule saw Salman pulling off many action scenes while riding a horse. In fact, he had spent just three days preparing for this part of the action thriller.” The source adds that the makers also “went out of their way” to ensure that the action scenes would “turn out brilliantly”.
“To ensure perfect execution and safety, the film’s team hired expert horse trainers who have worked on huge Hollywood productions such as Brad Pitt-starrer Troy (2004) and Alexander (2004), which starred Colin Farrell and Angelina Jolie,” says the source.
Adding that Salman is a trained rider, director Ali Abbas Zafar explains that after returning from the IIFA awards, the actor took just three days to get familiar with his horse, Wado. Ali says, “We have shot several risky portions on horseback with Salman. Therefore, getting Wado familiar with Salman and vice versa was key to ensuring that this portion of the shoot went well. We shot for eight days, and having trained, skilled horses actually made this portion of the shoot fairly easy to execute.”
Hollywood’s Tom Sturthers, the award-winning action director of X Men: First Class and Christopher Nolan’s Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises has choreographed the stunts for the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. After Sultan, Vishal Shekhar have again composed the music for Tiger Zinda Hai and the lyrics have been written by Irshad Kamil. The background score will be done by the ever dependable Julius Packium.
Directed by Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar, Tiger Zinda Hai stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Angad Bedi and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles and it has been produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film is scheduled to release on 22nd December 2017.
