October 1st Weekend Box Office Collection is 20.25 crore. Varun Dhawan’s October First Weekend Collections are average to say the least. The film grew on Saturday but couldn’t show much growth on Sunday at the box office.
Going by the weekend trend, until and unless the film sustains well enough on Monday, the chances of the film succeeding at box office are not that high at this point in time. October has showed the trend of a normal average multiplex targeted film i.e. Low/Average Opening Day, Strong Growth on Saturday and then limited growth on Sunday.
Theatrically, the film needs at least 60 crore to come close to being a success at the box office but the chances of it are not that bright at this point in time. The film has two weeks of free run till the release of Avengers : Infinity War and that might help the cause a little bit at the box office. For showcasing a good trend, the film actually needed a strong growth on Sunday too but that hasn’t come its way. Now, it all boils down to the crucial Monday test at the box office.
Varun Dhawan is one of big stars in present times and the box office expectations from his films have increased considerably in the last 3-4 years. October might turn out to be his lowest grosser although that depends on the Monday trend at the box office. Eventually the theatrical business should be the base of giving a verdict of the film. Producers make money via lot of different ways and more often that not, they manage to secure a table profit even before the release of a film. But that doesn’t mean that all those films are box office successes because theatrically they perform poorly both at domestic as well as overseas levels.
