Mahesh Babu’s SPYder has scored a below average first weekend at the box office as the numbers are disastrous for the rates at which it was sold at the box office. The opening weekend is less than Jai Lava Kusa by some margin but the prices of SPYder were way higher than Jai Lava Kusa.
The film is beyond disastrous in USA & Overseas. The film has barely touch 1.5 Million whereas the break even margin is 4.5 Million and it is all set to become the biggest overseas loss making film in Telugu industry. The exorbitant rates and the below average word of mouth have led to serious decline at the box office.
The opening was average but the film has never been able to recover beyond that. The subsequent four days at the box office has been below average with huge drop in business in Nizam & USA, two of the biggest contributors in the worldwide business share.
The film had done record pre releases business in AP/Telangana but the opening weekend is nowhere close to that mark and distributors are worried right now although they are hoping that things turn into their favor as early as possible.
The film is average in Tamil Nadu too. The film needs strong trending in Tamil Nadu too as the rates are quite high and the opening weekend collections are pretty average to say the least. Only territories where it has decently performed is Kerala and to an extent Karnataka and there chance of recovery is possible if the film trends well enough at the box office.
