Toilet Ek Prem Katha Hit or Flop : Budget, Box Office Prediction

Toilet Ek Prem Katha Hit or Flop : Budget, Box Office Prediction. Toilet : Ek Prem Katha is all set to release on 11th August. Here is our predictions on the opening (1st) day, 1st weekend & 1st week box office collection regarding the film. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Divyendu Sharma, Anupam Kher etc in pivotal roles.

The first trailer had received a good response as it was earthy, rooted in Indian culture and commercial love story which is rarely made now days. The film has been in the news for the last 1 year or so for all the good reasons. The title of the film has a nostalgic element to Gadar : Ek Prem Katha. The theme of the film is related to Narendra Modi’s Swaach Bharat Abhiyan. The film also deals with a sensitive issue of Open Defecation especially for Women in India.

The music of the film hasn’t worked as expected and that was pulled down the buzz and hype by some margin. Akshay Kumar in his current form should ensure a good initial at the box office and if the content turns out good then the film can long legs at the box office.

We had a chat with Leading Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi on Toilet : EPK and here is what he has to say about the film.

Akshay Kumar is the best phase of his career where he has become extremely consistent with the quality as well as box office numbers of his films. All his last 4 releases have grossed over 100 crores in India and have received good response as films too. He is the biggest selling point of the TEPK.

The film has a patriotic angle to it considering the fact that it is related to Swach Bharat Abhiyan and the release period is also around Independence Day. So the theme and the release date gel well with each other.

The film has really work well in the interiors of India, especially, Tier II and Tier III cities where there is an extreme prevalence of open defecation issue. This film could work very well with the female audience.

Bollywood is in dire straits right now and desperately needs some sort of box office boost at the moment. Hopefully, Toilet Ek Prem Katha has enough content to pull Bollywood out of its desperate times.
