The advance booking comparison is done between the tickets sold by Jawan and Pathaan in PVR - Inox - Cinepolis, the leading multiplex chains for India. Outside the leading multiplexes chains. Jawan is leading Pathaan for the opening day advances in single screens and smaller chains by a big margin.
Update (6th September 10:45 PM IST) : Jawan has obliterated all the box office records. All India Overall Total Advance for Jawan Day 1 is around 30 % higher than Pathaan. In terms of All India Ticket Sales, Jawan will end at 1.5 Million tickets for day one compared to 1.1 Million of Pathaan.
Update (6th September 8:45 PM IST) : Jawan has beaten Pathaan Opening Day Advance Booking Collections as well as ticket sales at All India Level. Overall weekend sales between the two might be a tight finish as we will get to know about it in the morning tomorrow.
Update (5th September 8:45 PM IST) : Two KNOCKOUTS - Jawan has scored the Highest Ever Advance for a Bollywood Film in Kerala beating Pathaan. The previous record holder Pathaan had done 0.73 cr in Advance Booking and 1.95 crore Opening Day gross. Jawan is currently at 0.9 cr and it should easily be first movie to collect 1 Crore from the advance booking with a possible target for 1.25-1.5 crore by the end of tomorrow. In terms of opening day, Jawan should be the first 2 crore and 3 crore opener for Bollywood in Kerala. The numbers are from all versions combined.
Jawan has scored the highest advance booking in Miraj Cinemas, the 3rd Biggest Multiplex Chain after PVR-Inox and Cinepolis. It has beaten the previous record holder Gadar 2 already and the final numbers should be at-least 35-40 % higher than Gadar 2. It has also beaten records in MovieTime, CityPride and many other smaller chains.
Update (5th September 6 PM IST) : Pathaan is currently leading Jawan by a decent amount of margin in the biggest multiplex chains (PIC). Pathaan had sold around 385K tickets compared to Jawan which is at 340k currently (6 PM, 1.25 Day Left) in the same time frame. Because of higher ticket prices (ATP) of Jawan, the gross ticket sales might be closer/higher than Pathaan. Outside national multiplexes, Jawan has better advances compared to Pathaan for the opening day owing to more mass appeal and the partial holiday on 7th September.
Update (5th September 3:30 PM IST) : Pathaan is currently leading Jawan by a decent amount of margin in the biggest multiplex chains (PIC). Pathaan had sold around 355K tickets compared to Jawan which is at 334k currently (3:30 PM, 1.5 Day Left) in the same time frame. Outside national multiplexes, Jawan has better advances compared to Pathaan for the opening day owing to more mass appeal and the partial holiday on 7th September.

Outside national multiplexes, Jawan has better advances compared to Pathaan for the opening day owing to more mass appeal and the partial holiday on 7th September.

Update (3rd September 8 PM IST) : Pathaan is currently leading Jawan by a decent amount of margin in the biggest multiplex chains (PIC). Pathaan had sold around 265K tickets in its first three days of bookings where Jawan is likely to end at 240k mark by the end of today.
While Jawan opened its advance on 1st September (6 days before the release), Pathaan opened its advance booking on 19th January evening (5.5 Days before the release).

The plus side is that Jawan will have additional half day of advance booking and that could be advantageous for the end result but the downside is that trend of Pathaan might be better because of tight window.
