  Devi Chowdhurani To Sream on Zee5 From Next Week - Devi Chowdhurani is a Bengali period drama that did well in theatres in September and is now heading to streaming in December 2025.​

The film will be available to stream on ZEE5 starting December 12, 2025.​ Directed by Subhrajit Mitra, the movie adapts Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s classic 1884 novel Devi Chowdhurani: Bandit Queen of Bengal.​

The story follows Prafulla, a young village woman who is rejected by her in-laws and larger society, and eventually transforms into the feared and respected bandit queen Devi Chowdhurani, fighting injustice and the British Raj.​

The narrative is set in British-ruled Bengal against the backdrop of the Sannyasi-Fakir Rebellion.​

A major plot point involves Prafulla’s father-in-law selling her to the British, her kidnapping by the dacoit Bhavani Pathak, and how those events shape her rise as a rebel leader.​

Srabanti Chatterjee plays Prafulla, who becomes Devi Chowdhurani.​

Prosenjit Chatterjee appears as Bhavani Charan Pathak, with Sabyasachi Chakrabarty as Haraballabh Ray, and supporting roles by Arjun Chakrabarty, Bibriti Chatterjee, Darshana Banik, Bharat Kaul, and Alexx O’Nell.​
