Update (08/09/2023) - Jawan has collected 3.45 crores beating previous record holder for Hindi films Pathaan (1.95 crores) by a margin of 80 %
Jawan scoring over Pathaan makes sense because Jawan will get bigger release for its Tamil version in the market apart from the usual factors like Shah Rukh Khan's stardom in Kerala, addition of Vijay Sethupathy, Nayathara and Atlee's popularity in the state with a proven track record at the box office and the fact that films with Tamil stars tend to do quite well at the Kerala box office.
