The Much awaited Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan to be Postponed?

The Much awaited Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan to be Postponed? - Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan is now very likely to be postponed, after the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) didn’t issue its censor certificate in time for the planned January 9 theatrical release.

With no clearance coming through, the team moved the Madras High Court asking for an urgent hearing to sort out the issue, and the court has reserved its order, saying the verdict will be announced on the morning of January 9. Since a film cannot hit theatres without censor approval, releasing it as per the original date has pretty much become impossible.

This last-minute uncertainty is already affecting advance bookings, especially in Tamil Nadu, where fans were gearing up for a massive opening, and an official announcement about the postponement is expected soon.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is extra special as it is positioned as Vijay’s final film before he steps fully into politics, which is one big reason the hype around it has been huge among both fans and the trade.

Even with this last-minute hurdle, the buzz around the film will keep on getting stronger and stronger, as fans are now even more eager to see how Vijay signs off from cinema before his political plunge. For now, everyone is just waiting for the court’s decision and a fresh release plan from the team.
